Re: Zero Z134 (R134a Replacement)
Went ahead with the Zero Z134. Cooling is adequate to good, It's possible that it is not as cold as r134a. I use a digital laser infrared thermometer to measure output temperature and got some pretty good readings. I aimed the beam into the vent. Temperatures consistently read in the mid 30 degrees...

Bought replacement evaporator and expansion valve and o-rings but after coming across fittings designed to block off the tubes going to the auxiliary unit and seeing how much w...

Leak?
Before I give up or start over I'd like to verify that the hissing sound in the video below is that of a leak and not some normal process. It is coming from near the orifice tube which I replaced. I was surprised to hear it since I drew down vacuum and the vacuum held for an hour. I then recharged t...

Re: Cleaning Connections
If they're not badly pitted, the joints should seal okay with a good cleaning like you did on one already, plus new o-rings. Be sure to keep any debris out of the ports and hoses. To ensure a nice tight seal, put a little Nylog Blue Label (available from this site's sponsor) on each o-ring prior to...

Re: Zero Z134 (R134a Replacement)
wear respiratory protection, cold insulating gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. Always a good idea when working with refrigerants. Never seen anyone throw on all this gear to put refrigerant in a car. :D :D Is that how you do it? Like to see the video. Man, I just want to put a little ...

Re: Zero Z134 (R134a Replacement)
Points well taken, plus some pretty serious warnings on can which I had not read before posting. Extremely flammable, may explode if heated, wear respiratory protection, cold insulating gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. Man, I just want to put a little freon in my car!
