Okay I’m back at it.
Doing some more digging on the compressor specs.
The QP25 was listed as having a 141mm pulley and that’s the lip diameter. So the numbers for it are actually better it’s got a 127mm belt OD.
I also found a Denso with an 8 groove pulley. It’s for the Toyota Tundra so it’s ...

Hey DetroitAC. Sorry for all the delays. I’ve had some engine issues on this beloved hunk of junk. I am still slowly moving forward on this project and I will definitely reach out if I have any issues and to update you guys. Thanks for all the help. I hope you guys had a great Christmas season.

Re: 2008 Suburban vs 2000 Excursion AC Functionality
Sorry for the delay. I had to drop the tank on the truck twice and replace the radiator before I left on a trip.
It looks like it will fit the factory location. That’s a huge compressor but I have a fair amount of real estate sale there. I may have to reroute a few things but it’s very doable ...

Re: 2008 Suburban vs 2000 Excursion AC Functionality
Okay so thats intriguing.
Thats a monster. I think I have enough space I will measure tonight. I would have to figure out hoses for it. I guess I might even have to replace the condenser so I could have the correct connectors on it. My concerns would be connecting it to the Evaporator, rear AC ...

Re: 2008 Suburban vs 2000 Excursion AC Functionality
Okay so here are some thoughts:
FS10 has a 113mm pulley & 170cc
Denso has a 114mm pulley & 200cc
TM21 has a 127mm pulley & 215cc
QP25 has a 141 mm pulley & 250cc
So A denso might work with the increased capacity, the disadvantage is the fittings will not work and I’m having trouble locating an ...

Re: 2008 Suburban vs 2000 Excursion AC Functionality
Sorry for the delays guys,
I didn’t intend to leave this thread hanging like this. However the beast has been down for a bit due to a fuel pump and then some project creep as I pulled the fuel tank.
I’ll get some measurements tomorrow on the max side. I think I have a fair bit of room above it ...

Re: 2008 Suburban vs 2000 Excursion AC Functionality
Okay so now the million dollar question.
Should I use the 215 CC compressor that is in stock?
Or wait for the 250 CC?
If I build the adapter and set it up for the 215 it will work for the 250 if I need to swap it out later. However I’d rather not spend the money twice.

Well crap. Thanks for checking. Did they have any idea when they might be back in stock?
