when charging i will be using 3 12oz cans of 134a
the system calls for 34oz of 134a
do i measure with a digital scale some how or just try to get as much out of each can as possible

well heres what i found

i put the gauges on and the pressure was 100 on both side with the car off

the orfice tube was clean and dry
the compressor appeared to be bone dry

i turned the compressor upside down and no oil came out
i let it sit upside down and no oil came out

i guess what happend ...

i cant wait i gotta see how bad this locked compressor contaminated the system
im pulling it in the garage and checking it out

should i wait for a sunny day to open the ac system or is it ok to do with the ground being wet
i do have a vacuum pump

is 20 minutes the longest or shortest amount of time i can pull a vacuum?

that might be what it was
on the loaner gauges the low side rests at 5psi
i think the needle is bent

i pulled a vacuum on the gauges and it got down to -25
i then closed the gauges and its holding at -25 for the last several hours

should work for what im doing

whats the limits on how long i can ...

just picked up the vacuum pump loaner
is a 1.5cfm 1/6 hp but its a mastercool

i will be servicing my ac soon and already ordered me gauges and vacuum pump

its a cheap pair and was wondering if it will do the job correctly

i just thought of ...

i plan on buying a new motorcraft ac compressor
it calls for pag 46

i just received my oil i plan to use its pag 46 premium double end cap
it states to check with manufacture of compressor for recommendations of specific types of lubricant and refrigerant requirements

if i need pag46 can i use ...

every time i remove the service cap on the low side its tight like pressure builds up
it has green residue on it
and it appears to have a black ball for the inlet valve????? is this normal

the high side appears normal
