Re: Trouble getting spring lock coupling to snap into place

Looked at it this morning and the new one isn’t any longer than the old one. In fact if anything maybe a bit shorter. But I think I figured out what it is. The bends in the new one are a little different and I was having a hard time getting it to line up exactly straight. I think it’s going in at a ...

I’ll try that in the morning and let you know if it works.

Re: Trouble getting spring lock coupling to snap into place

Yes, that’s the right number. I could try to dremel it. How much are we talking, just a few thousandths? I’ll compare the old and new tomorrow morning.

Re: Trouble getting spring lock coupling to snap into place

From ACKITS. I ordered on 3/22 and the part number is 34-64245. There was a question about whether it was 34-64252 or 34-64245, but I looked at the pictures and determined it was 245 and holding the old and new next to each other, it’s definitely the right one. It totally fits fine otherwise and the...

Re: Trouble getting spring lock coupling to snap into place

What is the solution if it turns out it is in fact longer? Replace it or try to grind it down (while being sure no contamination enters the line)?

Trouble getting spring lock coupling to snap into place

Hi all, I’m doing a complete a/c system replacement on my 2001 Ram 2500 diesel. Almost got the job done today, all of the other couplings snapped into place just like they’re supposed to. The last one I was doing was the liquid line to evaporator and for whatever reason, I simply cannot get it to lo...

Re: Help picking a compressor

About 25 miles, when the compressor is filled with a flush agent, sealer, or a gallon of oil. In this industry, you hear all the time it's defective. Most of the time, it's faulty because the person doing the work fails to do it properly or it's too much effort to repair it correctly. The good news...

Re: Help picking a compressor

Ok, thank you both for the info. I just haven’t had the best luck with aftermarket lately, especially those manufactured in China. My factory heater core lasted 250,000 miles, the aftermarket replacement- 50,000. Factory water pump - 270,000; aftermarket replacement - 40,000. Water pump is really ea...

Help picking a compressor

Looking to replace the compressor on my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. I see two options here on ACKits and one is over $100 more than the other. Just curious what the difference is. Possibly one is OEM and the cheaper is after market? Anyone have experience with these two compressors specifically regarding r...
