Ac blows cold, then warm.
People, 2001 civic EX, original owner. AC blows very cold sometimes, when it does the comp cycles on/off every 3 seconds, so quickly like something is wrong. Then, during a drive, out of the blue it stops blowing cold completely. Pressures on the ow side show 30-50 or so when blowing cold (cycling e...

How to remove fan cage
People,
2010 cobalt, I am restoring the motor shaft as it binds/squeaks. How do you remove the blue fan cage from the shaft? I am guessing it just pops off as there is no clip/nut retaining it. But with some force, it is stubborn. should I add more force? Other tricks?
Thanks, people.

Re: compressor connector
I jumped the presssure switch and the comp started. Finally! So, I ohmd the resistance and got 0.03 ohms. Engine off. Anyone know what ohms a good switch would show? This was the only way for me to get the comp to kick on, by jumping the switch.

Re: compressor connector
OK, I didnt have much choice so I did that and installed the comp. Now I added just a can of gas (12 oz) and comp dos not kick on. PSI is 90 or so. Shouldnt the comp start/engage with 90 psi? I dont know what else to do. I did try to start it by jumping the relay with no luck. help appreciated as al...

Re: compressor connector
In other words, can I rewire the new 3 wire comp so that the thermal protector is directly in line with the hot wire just like the old comp?

compressor connector
People, 2001 civic ex, got the new compressor, car taken apart and found out the new comp connector has 2 black and one red wire, and the connector is different. My original one has only one wire and went directly to the thermal protector. Can I cut off the connector and somehow make it work? I gues...

Re: Strange PSI's in AC system, no cold AC
I don't know its specs and how to test it, unfortunately. Can you see a wire going to the compressor's back and ending in some kind of probe? That probe is the thermal switch i'm speaking about. I see a wire going from the clutch to compressor, then going to the FRONT of the comp, clipped onto a cl...

Re: Strange PSI's in AC system, no cold AC
Good to know, Al. I wouldnt mind gambling on a switch- know where it might be? And once I find it any way to test it with an ohmmeter?
