Re: Diagnostic assistance....
Hey thanks bohica2xo, It's 2007 Saturn ION2. One owner car, (me). Did have 3 front end smacks by my daughters. Insurance covered it all with OEM parts. So I don't think it's missing anything. A/C always worked like a charm. Anyway I changed the compressor and the problem is solved. I dont know if it...

Re: Diagnostic assistance....
OK. Had already embarked on replacing the expansion valve and orifice tube. The tube was pretty filthy, (see pic). Couldn't find any visible issues with the old expansion valve. Bolted everything back up and pulled a vac. Charged it up again but no difference other than now the low was 75-80 psi and...

Re: Question: High side port....
I just cant use the OEM port it's going to leak eventually and uses the cap as a final leak prevention. That's just bad engineering in my opinion. Looked in my basket of do-dads and found a similar high side port with a schrader valve, (one on the right. The one on the left is the OEM POS). The diam...

Diagnostic assistance....
55 psi low side, 120 psi on the high. Ambient temp: 96-98 degrees Fahrenheit. Clutch engaging, system is full. Cool to warm air from center vent. GM Saturn ION2 last year run. Numbers like these point to a possible bad compressor or expansion valve? Recovered approximately 1 lb refrigerant, (specs a...

Re: Question: High side port....
Kinda figured that out already, (POS engineering if you ask me. Do they really care about leaks and the environment)? Had caps pop and break with the center of the cap remaining inside the port making it almost impossible to remove. Are these ports removable???

Re: What is this scale on my manifold gauges for?
I wish I knew the answer to that question too. My scale is the same and I am assuming the same as you, (my Mastercool Gauge instructions are moot with no explanation either). Been looking all over the WWW for an answer to this but no success. BTW the picture is clear as heck to me so I don't know wh...
