Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Replaced the PRV o-ring and the clutch bearing. Vaccd and held for almost a day. Regassed till the suction line started crying and now its icy cold. Data at 1500 RPM ambient temp - 33 C High - 230 , Low - 32 psi. Yet, on & off there is a screach when the clutch bites in and vainishes after a few...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Removed the PRV and I don't see it's ruptured or damaged. But it has no rubber sealing ring , only a thin steel washer.
Can I replace that thin wassher with a NBR o-ring?

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

I have visually obseved the compressor and with noise the centre hub stop/go for a while and once it rotates with the compressor, the noise is gone. The compressor is located very close to the radiator and no space. Doubt I can get the pulley out. Managed to remove the hub with a struggle. Anyway, n...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Any idea about that noise?
It's not the belt. Could it be faling clutch coil?

Also, heard rarely, whoosing momentarily (sometimes even without AC on)from the compressor area. could the high pressore valve(not sure what it is?) on the discharge line do this?

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

I cut open the RD and it's holes are all blocked with some light brown colour dust like wet thing. Got few pictures but can't get them to shrink to post here. Car is fine and hope it remains so. Initially, I got the system vaccd and within 30mts it dropped to 20. So I vaccd again and put some gas in...

Re: AC not cooling after remained garaged for few months

Ran for two days now even with outside temps reaching 32 C , it performed well. Yes, I will keep the old TXV as what I put in is some Chinese TXV. No I didn't measure the charge, only did it by sweatness on the suction line. I don't have the equipment. Buying a new compressor is a NO go, very very e...
