Wrong Size AC hose
I have a 1971 Pontiac Grand Safari, (b-body). Several years ago I had to have a new AC hose made. The one that goes from the back of the compressor to the condenser. This is the high side. I just noticed that this hose is the same diameter as the one from the evaporator to the compressor, which is t...

Re: Adding high pressure switch to older unit help.
GMTech, I looked up the switch you mentioned. It was exactly what I had in mind, but it unfortunately didn't turn on at the PSI I needed. Thank you, however, as you're the first person to actually answer the question and provide the information rather than just tell me to do it a different way. Even...

Re: Adding high pressure switch to older unit help.
I stop receiving notifications on this thread and didn't realize there had been responses. GM Tech, I agree, I also do not want the fans spinning when not needed, which is why I have determined the pressure sensor to be my best alternative. Would the sensor that went in the back of the old A6 compre...

Re: Trinary Switch without the high/low exist?
Thanks Tech. I almost made that mistake earlier when I looked to see if the transducer I used for another project that came from a 2000 S10 4cyl would work here and discovered what you explained here.

Re: Trinary Switch without the high/low exist?
The high side switch on these activates over 300psi, which is far too high for a fan to turn on. There are 3 wires, high/low/fan. I do not need the high low, and am asking if there is a part that only serves what the 3rd wire would do, which is turn the fans on at 250psi.

Trinary Switch without the high/low exist?
Hello, I'm curious if a switch like this trinary switch exists without the high/low cut off for the compressor, so it would only essentially control the fans at approx. 250 psi? For my custom setup, I have no need for the extra wires for the high low and would prefer to find a switch without them. h...

Re: Adding high pressure switch to older unit help.
Yes, the rest of the system is completely stock and the original mechanical fan is in place. I will upgrade to an HD clutch for the fan. I see lots of trinary switches for the high side to turn the compressor on and off at high and low pressures, and also to control the electric fans at a different ...

Adding high pressure switch to older unit help.
Hello, I have a 1971 Pontiac Grand Safari wagon. I would like to add a high pressure switch in the A/C hose that will control dual electric pusher fans I'm adding in front of the condenser (The condenser has been upgraded to a parallel flow. The rest of the system is stock). I have changed over to 1...

What CFM for condenser fan
I am adding electric pusher fan to my condenser. Space allows for two, 12" fans side by side. I'm curious what CFM range per fan I should be looking at, as there is a wide range of options available.

Condensor Pusher Fan w/mechanical fan
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to learn more about this subject. I have a '71 Pontiac station wagon (original 455 slightly bored when rebuilt) that I will be retaining the mechanical cooling fan. It overheats when the A/C is on when idling, so I want to add an electric pu...
